Dick Bell Appointed Nebraska Game and Parks Commissioner

LINCOLN – Gov. Dave Heineman today announced the appointment of Dick Bell of Omaha to the Nebraska Game and Parks Board of Commissioners. Bell will represent District 2, which encompasses Douglas County.

The appointment fills a vacancy created by the passing of long-time Commissioner Ron Stave of Omaha. Bell will serve the remainder of the term on the nine-person board through January 2016.

“I am honored to serve as a Commissioner for the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission,” Bell said. “Outdoor recreation is vital to our quality of life. As an outdoors enthusiast, I recognize how important conservation is for our future. As a Commissioner, I will support the mission of the agency and help provide the best future possible for Nebraska’s youth.”

Bell is retired as Chairmen and CEO of HDR, Inc. He serves on the national board for Pheasants Forever. He also serves on the BlueCross BlueShield Board of Directors; HDR Board of Directors; Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo Foundation Board; Peter Kiewit Institute of Board Policy Advisor; and the Boy Scouts of America Mid-America Council. Bell also has served as Board Chairman for the Durham Museum and Omaha Chamber of Commerce Chairman.
