LINCOLN – It is not too late to register to Run Wild! Choose from a 10k or 5k through scenic, naturally challenging dirt trails at Eugene T. Mahoney State Park on May 17. Children can enjoy the 1-mile fun run.

Before and after the race, Raptor Recovery will have live bird demonstrations. Or you can practice your archery skills, get your face painted like a wild animal and register to win a half-price youth lifetime hunt and fish permit.

The 1-mile run begins at 8 a.m., and the 5k and 10k races begin at 8:30 a.m. Registration for the 1-mile run is $12. Registration for the 5k and 10k is $35 until May 2 and $40 after May 2. Register at RunWildNE.org.

Proceeds benefit the Wildlife Conservation Fund, which works to save Nebraska’s wildlife and wild places, with special emphasis on Nebraska’s threatened and endangered species.
