Just sharing some fun #ThrowbackThursdayNEParks photos with you. Formerly known as Cowles Lake, this popular state recreation area was acquired in 1958 and opened to the public in 1960. It remains a very popular place for outdoor recreation today!  Here’s an old photo of the Cowles Lake Concession.

Ready for the answer? The name of the state recreation area spelled backwards, is: sreviR owT. Hope you got it right!

By the way, this is not a good ‘scanned’ photo, but Lake #2 at Two Rivers was a popular place in the late 1970s and early 1980s for swimming when diving boards and platforms were around.

Thousands still enjoy making memories at Two Rivers today whether it’s wetting a line in one of the fishing lakes on the area or spending a couple nights with their family in unique lodging quarters — a caboose!
