Learn Trophy Scoring at Lincoln Workshop

LINCOLN – Learn how to score a trophy at a free workshop Jan. 8 in Lincoln. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Nebraska Game and Parks Outdoor Education Center.

Randy Stutheit, Nebraska big game records coordinator and certified Boone and Crockett and Pope and Young Club scorer, will cover the basics of measuring typical and nontypical whitetail and mule deer and antelope. Participants may bring their own trophies to measure. This workshop is limited to 20 participants. Visit OutdoorNebraska.org/OutdoorEdCenter to register.

The education center is located at 4703 N. 44th St. This family-friendly center is open to all shooters and archers and offers a wide range of workshops and other activities for youth and families, as well as hunter education classes. The indoor ranges are open Friday through Tuesday. The outdoor archery range is free and open every day from sunrise to sunset.

Jan. 8, 15, 22, 29 – Archery Target League, $45-80, 7 p.m.

Jan. 11, 18, 25 – Beyond Becoming an Outdoors-Woman Ladies’ Shooting Series, $10, 3 p.m.

Jan. 18, 25 – Indoor 3-D Archery League, $45-80, 7 p.m.

Jan. 19 – Archery Fun Shoot, $5, noon

Jan. 22 – Novice Predator Hunting Workshop, free, 7:30 p.m.

Jan. 24-25 – Bow-Building Clinic, $20, 8 a.m.

Jan. 29 – River Otters in Nebraska: A Success Story, free, 7 p.m.

Jan. 31 – Rimfire Rally Challenge, $5-10, 5:30 p.m.
