I am going to steal a photo from my nephew’s FaceBook page for this Friday’s blog post. He got this on one of his trail cameras recently:
Obviously it was purely fortuitous that he got that picture, but you can get some really amazing pictures with trail cameras. Professional wildlife photographers use them too; they may be a little more sophisticated than the versions used by avid deer hunters, but the technology is the same.
Yes, trail cams allow us to “cheat” a little bit and get some observations, snap shots, of what is happening in the “woods” or in the field without actually being there. Still, the more time a person is able to spend “out there” the more that can be learned and the more successful one will be–that is a huge part of the enjoyment! It is not just the harvest or catch! In the time in the field, or on the water, you never know what might happen, what you might see.
If you look a little closer, you will even see a holiday bent in that picture.
Wonder how many more deer were just off camera to the left? Maybe even a fat, bearded guy? No, not me, the one who wears a red suit!
Have a great weekend!
Thanks, Nathan.
