It’s Sports Show Time in Omaha!

It’s a fun and exciting week for me in the metro as the state’s largest outdoor show, the Omaha Boat, Sports and Travel Show, kicks off tonight (Thursday night) and runs through late Sunday afternoon downtown at the CenturyLink Center.

OmahaSportsShow2015

I’ll be showing you a few main features of the sports show this evening at 6 p.m. CST on my Weekly Outdoor Report which airs LIVE on Omaha’s WOWT 6 News during the sportscast with Ross Jernstrom. If you’re unable to watch it, video replays of my outdoor report are always available by clicking here. Our outdoor segment is re-broadcasted again on Saturday morning later in the station’s hour-long 8 a.m. CST newscast as well. You can catch a glimpse of the show before heading to it by watching my report!

Also, on Saturday morning and early afternoon, I’ll be broadcasting LIVE at the CenturyLink Center during the sports show and interviewing some of the exhibitors and speakers there on The Great Outdoor Radio Show I host. It airs on Omaha’s KOZN/1620 AM “The Zone”  from 9-10 a.m. CST and then from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. CST. Tune in and meet some of the exhibitors and speakers!

In addition, on Saturday and Sunday at various times from 10 a.m.  to 4 p.m., you’ll be able to find me at our Nebraska Game and Parks Commission exhibit having a riot and encouraging you and your family to go outdoors in Nebraska this year!

There’s another reason to think “selfies” at our Omaha Sports Show exhibit. This: #FishNebraska Photo Contest! To build awareness and support our agency’s key mission to Fish Nebraska, we are hosting a photo contest at the sport show. People will be able to take their own picture(s) in front of our lake picture photo op. We will have props for them to choose from to be creative. If they upload their picture to our Game and Parks Facebook Page with the #FishNebraska, they have an opportunity to win the following prizes. The person with the most “Likes” will win:

o 1st Place – Guided Fishing Trip

o 2nd Place – $75 Gift Card to Cabela’s

o 3rd Place – $50 Gift Card to Cabela’s

o 4th Place – $25 Gift Card to Cabela’s

Don’t worry, folks, I’m not eligible for this contest, but I hope to see you and your family at the show! Look for me, will ya’?
