October 2015 NEBRASKAland

My blog is all about the fish most of the time.  As such you can count on my calling attention to the current issue of NEBRASKAland magazine and the picture of a cutthroat trout on the front!

The cover refers to an excellent story on the inside–Justin Haag’s Pine Ridge Streaming.  Be sure to check it out on pages 52-57!  Justin’s story highlights some of the trout fishing opportunities that can be found in Nebraska’s great Pine Ridge region.  In addition to Jusin’s excellent story, you can pick up some more information on catching trout in Nebraska’s cold-water streams here, Trout Fishing in Nebraska’s Streams.

I do not get out to the far northwestern part of Nebraska as much as I would like, but over the years have spent some time exploring the small cold-water stream gems found out there and have caught a number of gems out of those waters.  Most recently my son and I had a great day this past August on one of those waters, Back in White.  Justin’s article is right on, read it, do it!

As usual, the current issue of NEBRASKAland is full of much, much more; urban hawks, hunting dog first aid, great photography and information on a host of topics.  Make sure you check it out.
