Hunters reminded to donate to Hunters Helping the Hungry

Hunters are reminded they may donate harvested deer to the Hunters Helping the Hungry program at seven processor locations in Nebraska. The participating meat processors are: Amherst – Belschner Custom Meats Norfolk – R&M Meats North Platte – Kelley’s Custom Pack Table Rock – Den’s Country Meats Franklin – Franklin Locker Ulysses – The Butchery Lindsay – Melcher’s Locker Hunters pay no processing costs for deer donated to processors for this  program. Hunters Helping the Hungry receives NRA Hunters for the Hungry grant

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Hunters Helping the Hungry program has received a $1,500 grant award from National Rifle Association Hunters for the Hungry to aid the program in helping Nebraskans in need. These funds will be used to cover some deer processing costs, supplementing cash donations. Additional cash donations from individuals and businesses still are needed to bridge the gap between the desire by hunters to donate deer and costs to process deer. List of Hunters Helping the Hungry meat processors changes

LINCOLN, Neb. – Hunters in south-central Nebraska wanting to participate in the Hunters Helping the Hungry program will have one less meat processor available to them during the November firearm deer season. Steakmaster Inc. of Elwood is not accepting deer. Hunters wishing to donate deer to the program during the Nov. 14-22 season can do so at eight processor locations, with two additional locations starting Nov. 14. LINCOLN, Neb. – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission reminds hunters that the Hunters Helping the Hungry (HHH) program has participating meat processors located across the state. LINCOLN – Twenty-one meat processors will participate in the 2014 Hunters Helping the Hungry program. Administered by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, Hunters Helping the Hungry provides ground venison to Nebraskans in need. Deer hunters may donate deer at any contracted Hunters Helping the Hungry processor beginning with the start of the archery season on Sept. 1, 2014.
